iPhone X iOS 12 Battery Drain

Am I the only one experiencing battery drain and slow charge times on the iPhone X rocking iOS 12

My battery died twice today and was fully charged before it died both times. This is with normal usage.

In the time it's taken me to skim this thread and write this comment (and that's all I'm doing- no music playing or whatever) I've gone from 20% to 8% This is freakin ridiculous.

Just updated to 12 on my 6s and it's draining like CRAZY and still have 90% capacity in the battery (replaced in January)

I went down atleast 50% in a 35 min lunch of just browsing Facebook/the web. Only a few apps open in background

Poorer battery life after installing a new OS is a common experience as everything on your phone is being re-indexed. It should return to normal after awhile. That can perhaps have an effect on charging times (the phone is working harder, so uses more power), but should also return to normal when its done.

That's definitely not it . Read the other comments , It should have sorted itself out if that were the case

iOS 12 is still draining my battery insanely fast. It has been out for a while now.

The weird thing is that this never happened during the Beta for me.

I too have noticed a bit of a battery drain on my 8+ after updating

level 1

I'm definitely noticing a lot faster drain, after 5 hours I'm at 50% remaining with just some browsing and music listening. Usually have 50% left after a full day at work and Gym, yesterday came home with 35% with the same usage patterns.

I thought it was just indexing but it's been 5 days now

Any updates on your side? I face the same behavior ...

Battery appears to be draining really fast. I'm usually at 70% at the end of the night if I barely use it for just a few texts all day long. I'm at 50% after lunch without even using it yet. wtffff

level 1

X here no issues so far. If anything it's better now

level 1

You are not the only one. I have a 6s and my battery will drop by huge chunks (10-40%) during times when I am not even using the phone. I constantly close apps too so it isn't apps in the background killing it.

level 1

I've had iOS 12 installed for as long as it's been available to the public and my battery will be drained to 40% even if it's sat in my bag all day during work. I'm conscientious of background activity, checking which apps are the drain, and my phone literally reported that "Home Screen" for 26 minutes was what caused 80% of my drain. SERIOUSLY?? I'm not happy. It is 10 am right now, I just opened my phone to check a text, haven't touched in since I woke up at 7, and it is currently at 48%. I've hard restarted, power cycled, and nothing works.

level 2

Which phone do you have ?

level 1

I feel like I've noticed quicker battery drain, but it isn't a drastic change. I assumed that it would either go back to normal eventually or get fixed when 12.0.1 comes out.

Haven't had a chance to update yet :/ going on a week long no-internet trip. Hoping it'll sort itself out

level 1

Much faster drain on my iPhone and iPad

level 1

I haven't noticed anything

level 1

I have noticed a drain but its probably normal for the first couple days
